Why you should not cut your nails at night?

As said in the title, this was once told by my friend in school. Out of nowhere, we were discussing topic about what our parent had said to us. This was one of it.

I'm a Chinese and my parents didn't even know about this and that friend of mine is Malay and Islam religion. This may be more know towards that side of religion and not towards the chinese.

Why you shouldn't cut your nails at night?

Actually, no one really knows the reason. Whenever we tried to cut out nails at night, our parents start saying that and we stop what we were doing and asked for a reason and they too never know.

By the fact that me and my friend have discussed, it may seem legit and fit to the reason for it. In the old days, there were no lighting in the house, no electricity. So it was dark at night and you can see what your cutting. People at that time were using scissor or knife to cut their nails instead of nail cuter Their scissor are sharp and can easily cut your flesh of if you were mistaken it for nails. 

So it may seems like why our grandparents have told this to our parents and then to us
